Cruising town on hot summer evenings in the 90s and jamming out to some great music was a favorite past time for many rock music lovers. Our beloved rock stars from the 1990s have managed to stand the test of time and even today they are considered iconic stars. These artists helped shape not just the 90s, but their influence can be seen time and time again throughout the following years.

Rock music was very popular in the 1990s and proved to be a very successful decade for many artists. Americans witnessed the breakthrough of many bands, like Nirvana, and fans welcomed alternative rock into the musical mainstream. The Red Hot Chili Peppers brought worldwide attention to alternative rock with their album Sex Magik Blood Sugar and also found huge success while combining funk and conventional rock with their release of Californication.

During this decade, a new style of alternative rock emerged, which eventually became known as alternative metal. This style of music combined elements of alternative rock with heavy metal and eventually led to various subgenres, like funk metal and rap metal.

While thankful for her upbringing, Nicole admits that there wasn’t a lot of free time to just be a kid. Something she wants differently for her own children. In college, Nicole spent the majority of her free time watching documentaries and participating in fundraisers. Her creative mind, love for numbers and a passion for history have enabled her to oversee multiple fundraising opportunities during her college years and eventually landed her a job working in the activities department on campus. Nicole jumped right in and planned multiple events hosting trivia game nights for students. After a day of working, you will most likely find Nicole and her husband Brent watching trivia game shows with their three children. And most of the time, even their dog, Max, sits in front of the TV watching trivia too. The family enjoys hiking, camping and spending time in the great outdoors, as well.
